Travertine

The stone has always been the first material used da’uomo to finish and decorate his house, its palaces and its churches. For this, each environment will be paved in travertine rich and prestigious, but able to adapt to every architectural style, as this marble was used from ancient times through all eras of art history.

Travertine is available in many shades of color. Being a sedimentary limestone, which is formed with stratification of calcium carbonate combined with oxides, which determine the various colors, can be cut in two different ways: in the “flap” that is, in the direction of stratification which has as a final result to a material that shows streaking; or “controflada”, orthogonally to the direction of stratification that highlights the stratifications same in the form of lines more or less regular.
